Skyebird Foods co-founders Megan Sargent and Dani Holt-Lyman were looking for a family-friendly logo and identity for Skyebird Foods. The Skyebird name is inspired by Dani’s daughter Skye, who has Type 1 diabetes. It was Skye’s dietary requirements that set Dani out on a mission to find foods products suitable for people eating low carb, healthy fat (LCHF) and wanting to manage type 1 diabetes.
The design direction for the Skyebird Foods brand identity was clean, simple and rustic. Keywords were soaring, effortless, natural, crafted (as in ‘artisan’), living well, real (as in ‘ethical’), high standards, and knowledgeable. The soaring bird is the main symbol in the logo lockup and represents the values of those keywords.
As well as the logo, a complimentary slip and business cards were designed. Bread and packaging labels were also rolled out.
